Thai Country Club – Prestigious Championship Course in Eastern Bangkok
Thai Country Club is a premier members-only golf course regarded as one of the best in Bangkok, setting high standards for service excellence and course maintenance. Designed to USPGA standards by Denis Griffiths, this 18-hole, par-72 course spans 7,151 yards and opened in December 1996.
The course has hosted notable international golf tournaments including the 1997 Asian Honda Classic, famously won by Tiger Woods with a 10-stroke lead, the 1998 Johnnie Walker Super Tour, and the Volvo Masters in 2007 and 2008. Its championship layout challenges golfers with water hazards, strategically placed sand bunkers, and beautifully contoured fairways and greens.
The terrain features rolling mounds and elevated greens that belies the originally flat land, requiring smart course management and precision. The bunkering is artistic and unforgiving, with semi-rough areas adding challenge to errant shots. The large undulating greens offer exciting pin placements that test every aspect of golf proficiency.
Highlight holes include the demanding par-3 6th, guarded by water and multiple bunkers, making it the toughest hole for pros, and the attractive par-5 14th, a favorite among players. The club’s well-trained caddies and impeccable service complement this world-class golfing experience.
The award-winning clubhouse, set amid water features between the 1st tee and 18th green, is often voted the best in Asia, offering superb dining options including Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisines at The Gallery restaurant. The golfer’s lounge provides a perfect spot to relax and enjoy spectacular course views.
