Sentosa Golf Club – Serapong Course: Asia’s Top-Ranked 18-Hole Championship Golf Course
The Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club is a premier par-72 golf course measuring 6,675 meters, widely recognized for its challenge and prestige. Awarded the “Number 1 Championship Golf Course in Asia” by Asian Golf Monthly in 2007 and “Best Golf Course in Singapore” by Golf Digest in 2009, the Serapong Course ranks among the top 79 golf courses worldwide and stands as a top five championship course in Asia. It is the proud host of the prestigious Singapore Open.
Designed by Ronald Fream and opened in 1982, the course underwent a significant renovation in 2007 by Golfplan’s Fream, Dale & Ramsey. Enhancements included redesigned bunker complexes, faster and more challenging greens, fairway mounding, large lakes with stone-lined walls, and stunning views of downtown Singapore. The course demands strategic play, with bunkers framing landing areas on most holes and well-guarded, undulating greens presenting tricky pin placements.
Notable holes include the 3rd hole, a 439-meter challenge that loops the front nine with spectacular views of Singapore harbor, requiring a precise downhill tee shot to a narrow fairway with a tree sheltering the landing zone. The back nine’s highlight is the par-4 15th hole, the toughest on the course, demanding an accurate drive down the right side to avoid the harbor hazards on the left.
As a buggy-only course, Serapong also offers advance caddie services for visiting golfers. The clubhouse features multiple dining options, a pro shop, and locker rooms, completing the premium golfing experience.
