Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club, renovated in 2015, is a distinguished 27-hole course in Pattaya known for hosting prestigious events including the Kings Cup (European Tour), Thailand Open (Ladies European Tour), Royal Cup (Asian Tour), and Ladies European Thailand Championship. The European Tour returned in 2019, underscoring the course’s competitive standard.

Designed by Dennis Griffiths, Phoenix Gold features three distinct nines—Ocean, Lake, and Mountain—set across wooded, rolling terrain with stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand and surrounding mountains. The course’s gently contoured fairways, shallow bunkers, and sloping greens provide a challenging yet enjoyable parkland experience. Mature mango and eucalyptus trees, along with vibrant flowering shrubs, enhance the natural ambiance.

The Lake Course features several small ponds, including a tough par-4 8th hole doglegging around a lake demanding accuracy. The Ocean Course offers no water hazards until the spectacular finishing hole tee shot from the highest point on the course, overlooking the Gulf and Pattaya skyline. Large sand bunkers guard this par-5’s fairway and green, testing precision. The Mountain Course impresses with breathtaking jungle-clad hills and a unique laser-carved Buddha image on a rocky cliff.

The clubhouse, though less elegant than some, provides ample locker rooms, a large pro shop, and a well-priced restaurant offering Thai and European cuisine. Phoenix Gold’s easy access from Pattaya, excellent course conditions, and reasonable green fees make it an attractive option for golf packages.
